Safety squat bars are a great specialty barbell when used correctly. The safety bar positions your back straight when you are squatting and relieves the stress on your shoulders, elbows and wrists during the exercise. 

With your back in a more vertical position, the safety squat bar minimises the pressure on your lower back and allows a better range of movement from your hips to your knees and ankles. 

Designed so you don't have to externally rotate the shoulder during a squat, you simply sit the padded section around your neck and hold the handles directly in front of you. 

The thick padding allows the bar to sit higher on the neck and protects you from the grind of the knurling on the bar.   

The MA1 Olympic Safety Squat Bar includes 2 spring collars so you just need to add weights and you would be ready to go.
